Emerald Isle is the jewel of
an area known as the crystal coast. Emerald Isle is located on the
western end of Bogue Banks Island. The island faces south toward the
Atlantic Ocean. On the north side,
the island is bordered by Bogue Sound with its mysterious marshes
that cradle our abundant wild life.
At Anchor is located
at 1201 Ocean Dr. To get there, cross one of two bridges that connect
Emerald Isle to the mainland. One bridge connects Morehead City
to Atlantic Beach. The other bridge connects Cape Carteret and Emerald
Isle.
Either direction will take you past quaint surf shops, sea food
restaurants, and other vacation homes. Then turn south at 12th
street. At Anchor is just to the right on the oceanfront. The beach
here has spectacular sunsets, sweet breezes, and is never crowded.
Emerald Isle is the perfect environment for a family to get in touch
with nature and with each other.
